We had an existing professional relationship with the team behind Wharfedale PAT Testing, having designed and developed an in-depth e-commerce site for their other business. While that was a huge website selling over one thousand different products, primarily in the large format printing industry, the new website was a straightforward, minimal portfolio site. We were commissioned to design and create a small business web design, to showcase the services offered and encourage clients to take action. It was also important to convey information about PAT Testing itself, as it’s an essential and legal requirement that it’s important to educate clients about.

Small business web design is something we specialise in at H.E Web Design, so this project was right up our street. We created a small, compact portfolio website that gives visitors to the website detailed information about PAT Testing, why it’s essential, and how Wharfedale PAT Testing can help. The site is structured with a Why, Where, When and What layout, which clearly and concisely conveys all the necessary information about PAT testing that a business owner might need. As the business is locally restricted, we used a recognisable photograph of a local site that will appeal to businesses within their local area.

The small business web design we created is fully responsive, with optimised content for every device, desktop through mobile. While visitors are primarily visiting the site on desktop devices, we always want to provide an inclusive and interactive user experience, however you’re visiting the website. We built the website with WordPress, which allows the client to observe visitor and customer analytics, so they can feed this information back into offering the service that their customers are looking for.
